ince childhood, I’ve been in love with telling stories and writing poetry. My first “readers” were my sister and cousin whom I used to tell an ongoing, interactive bedtime story that included us as main characters and that lasted years! As I got a little bit older, I fell in love with poetry and its magical lines, and from then on, I wrote my diary in that form. Then when I was around eleven, I developed a passion for journalism. But, I was brought up to believe that it’s impossible to succeed in that field – it was a very different time than the one we’re living in now, the gatekeepers in the Middle East were ironclad.

I went on to study and work in business and computer programming, my other love, until I couldn’t take it anymore – my journalistic side was burning to be let out! I decided to break through all my fears and indoctrination and launch my own print magazine – a monumental feat at the time particularly in Saudi Arabia, where I was, and at a time when indie publishing was unheard of. I spent years honing my skills that not only included writing, but also the business of publishing and entrepreneurship. Many a day, and night, were spent toiling away with a million different hats that a magazine publishing business requires. I was living my dream and learning various life skills that made me half of who I am today.

During that time, I also got married to the love of my life and went on to have four wonderful children. With that came a multitude of other challenges and opportunities. Through the beautiful rollercoaster ride of love, family, and managing a chaotic household and schedule, I went from growth to growth – with every moment that passed I experienced and learnt valuable life skills that made me the other half of who I am today.

So, here we are now, breaking through one of my biggest fears and finally sharing my writing with the world. I hope you enjoy reading my very varied writings as much as I enjoyed writing them and the journey that got me to them…
